Thanks for these great recommendations! I loved Keegan’s book Small Things Like These and the ethical dilemma the author presents. I know you can’t include every detail but it’s unfortunate that you left out the fact that the ethical dilemma involved young women mistreated by nuns in a home for pregnant unwed women. The book actually takes place in 1985, a year when these homes were historically still operating in Ireland. It would have been a perfect opportunity for you to openly discuss the mistakes the Catholic Church has made in the past and how the church is, thank goodness, making many new decisions about issues related to human dignity and basic human rights.
