I’m eager to listen to the new episode! I’m a Catholic woman who had never given much thought to women’s ordination until I learned about the scandalous Inquisitions Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict had undertaken against the leadership conference of US Catholic women religious (US-LCWR) for insufficient doctrinal fidelity. I was immensely heartened when then-Bishop Joe Tobin observed of the Vatican’s investigations that Catholic Sisters lived and served in far greater poverty and humility than their counterparts in the priesthood, and wondered whether the Vatican had considered a comparable investigation into the doctrinal fidelity of US Catholic priests. The scandal opened my eyes to the life-giving service and leadership women have always provided to the Church and the world. Pope Francis brought an end to the scandalous investigations in the second year of his papacy. https://www.globalsistersreport.org/trends/lcwr-leader-talks-pain-visitation-state-vatican-doctrinal-investigation-16771
